Compete’s unique multi-source panel methodology and industry-leading data management practices ensure our panel is unmatched in its depth, quality and integrity.Overview Reporting directly to Compete’s President, and serving on the executive management team, the VP of client services position is one of the most senior and visible roles in the company. This role consolidates leadership of Compete’s vertical practice areas including automotive, consumer electronics, CPG, financial services, online media / search, retail, telecommunications and travel industries. These practices deliver data-driven insights to major advertisers, agencies and media companies. The client services team currently includes over 50 members with significant growth planned over the next 3-5 years both in the U.S. and globally.
This position will lead the development and execution of a strategy to scale the team’s next phase of aggressive growth. Specific elements of this strategy include developing a global organization structure, enhancing client delivery, optimizing the mix of syndicated products and customized services and managing profitability at both the client and product level.Responsibilities
• Design and execute processes to deliver with greater efficiency, quality and profitability
• Lead the growth of existing clients relationships through the combination of superior delivery, value, creativity, trust and identifying upsell opportunities
• Recruit, coach, mentor and train the client services team on the art of client development and the translation of data into insights
• Oversee operations and service delivery to clients ensuring quality, timeliness, relevance and actionability
• Facilitate thought leadership for Compete’s business units as a data-driven digital research and insights provider
• Identify internal and external product, delivery, organization and operational best practices and deploy them across the vertical practice areas
• Champion innovation and new solution development
• Establish self as a trusted advisor both internally and externally
• Negotiate complicated engagement models with clients
• Assist in the prioritization related to capacity and resource allocation decisionsQualifications • Experience building and scaling a global professional services team in a state of rapid growth
• Experience delivering consulting-oriented marketing, consumer insight and market research services to executive-level clients
• Substantial leadership experience in online media, consulting, general marketing or marketing research
• Ability to create and implement processes that scale solutions and bring programs to market and effectively identify metrics that track performance
• Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding revenue, account growth and profitability targets
• Ability to make difficult decisions and arbitrate among multiple interests and objectives
• Experience with budget planning and P&L ownership
• Sharp, innovative and creative mind with a natural curiosity and passion for emerging digital technologies and practices
• Excellent communications, public speaking, collaboration and motivational skills
• Exceptional ability to manage time, set priorities, pay attention to details and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and fluid environment
• Agency experience a plus
• BA/BS required – MBA or other advanced degree preferred
