September 20, 2011 - Former NBC News Political Director to Establish NYC Office for Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group.
New York, NY, September 20, 2011 — Elizabeth Wilner, former political director of NBC News, has been named Vice President for Strategic Initiatives of the Campaign Media Analysis Group (CMAG), a Kantar Media Solution that is the leading source of content analysis and advertising expenditure for political, public affairs and issue advocacy professionals.
Wilner will establish an office for CMAG in New York, as well as work with clients in Washington, D.C. She will report directly to Ken Goldstein, President of Kantar Media’s CMAG.
Wilner has served as political director of NBC News, deputy political director of ABC News and as managing editor of The Cook Political Report. Wilner has covered and analyzed four presidential elections, as well as hundreds of congressional and state races, ballot initiatives and issue advocacy campaigns. She established NBC’s centralized Political Unit and the network’s popular political news blog, First Read. During her time at ABC, Wilner co-founded the trend-setting political digest,The Note.
More recently, she has led communications in the public policy realm as associate dean for external relations at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and as the first director of public affairs at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, which she helped launch in 2008.
