May 19, 2011 - Professor of Political Science at University of Wisconsin-Madison to succeed Evan Tracey.
New York, NY, May 19, 2011 -- Kenneth M. Goldstein, a professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and one of the country’s premier experts on political advertising, has been named president of the Campaign Media Analysis Group (CMAG), a Kantar Media Solution that is the leading source of content analysis and advertising expenditure for political, public affairs and issue advocacy professionals.
Goldstein is succeeding Evan Tracey, founder of CMAG, who is leaving to pursue new interests.
Since 2004, Goldstein has served as professor, Department of Political Science, University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 books, refereed journal articles or book chapters on political advertising, voter turnout, survey methodology, presidential elections and news coverage.
In addition to currently serving as a consultant for the ABC News elections unit and as a member of their election night coverage team, Goldstein has appeared on numerous news outlets for his election insights, including the Newshour with Jim Lehrer, Nightline, ABC World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, FOX News Channel, MSNBC, CNBC and CNN, as well as being quoted extensively in The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.
He is a founding director of the University of Wisconsin Advertising Project and the University of Wisconsin News Lab. Goldstein recently won the University of Wisconsin’s Kellet Award for his career research accomplishments and the Chancellor’s Award for excellence in teaching.
